iPhone 3G Unlock
When I mention the code-name yellowsn0w most people will know it’s the latest thing to come out from The Dev Team. They have made a soft unlock for the 3G baseband version 2.11.07 which is present in the 2.1 firmware.
The soft unlock or yellowsn0w as it’s called will be released on New Years Eve. So keep an eye on The Dev Team’s blog.
Belkin Silicone Sleeve
Today I saw some Belkin silicone sleeve’s for the 3G iPhone, so I decided to get them. They came in a pack of two, one pink and one black. This was convenient as Chell has an iPhone too and likes the colour pink.
They are nice and thin, but not too thin and fit the phone’s nicely. They aren’t too chunky nor too “sticky”. It almost feels like there is no skin on them at all. The model of the skin is F8Z354-2A if your interested in looking at them.
You can view more information about the silicone skin over at ctonline.

3G Speed Test
Well my iPhone is on Optus and most people I know or the things I’ve been reading say that Optus’s 3G network is shit. So I decided to do a speed test and here are the results.
Now this was done inside a shopping centre about 12:30pm on a Friday afternoon. Now as the picture shows, the speed isn’t too bad for a network everyone says is shit.

Say NO to Internet Censorship
All of you by now should know that Australia is introducing internet censorship. Now here in Australia we already pay premium rates for the internet compared to other countries, how can they filter out what we browse. I highly disagree with internet censorship, if I’m paying for an internet service, I expect to get that service, not a service that filters out certain content.
If you agree that internet censorship is wrong, please go and sign the petition. Also fill out the details below and tell as many people you can, vote NO on internet censorship.

Some Updates
Well the past week has been all about work, life and the family. Chell and I have both been busy with work and the kids. We took them down the strand last Friday for dinner and a swim at the Rockpool.
Chell and I both got tattoo’s, hers is 4 butterflies – each one representing one of the kids, it looks great. Mine is my star sign (Pisces) on the inside of my lower arm. We took the kids to the strand last night too for Phoebe’s birthday, they had fun playing with Phoebe and Jayden. Matt got stung by a bee or something but he is alright.
The kids are back at their dads now for another week. We can’t wait to get them back again. Tonight we’re going to go out clubbin’ and chill after a big week. The thing that sucks is that I work the next 5 days, yes all weekend! I will get a good pay though!
Well that is all for now, another update completed. I hope all is going well wherever your reading this from.

Review: Trace (iPhone/iPod Touch)
Trace is a free game that is available in the App Store that doesn’t look like a decent or fun game at first sight. The game itself is all drawn free-hand and the animations are quite basic but the game itself is fun to play.
The game Trace was developed by Bovinedragon Software and was released on 21/10/08 into the App Store. The game runs in landscape mode to give the user more area to play with. The controls are at the bottom of the screen which include a left/right arrow at the bottom left to control the character and a jump button at the bottom right. In between these controls is a retry, back and draw/erase button also.
Email Hoaxes
I have received not only one, but two email hoaxes from friends within three days of themselves.
The first one is the good old “Bill Gates will give you money if you forward this”, the other being “Ericsson giving away free laptops”.
Now here is some of the transcript from the emails, and why they are hoaxes.
First email, Bill Gates / AOL giving away money (Seems too good to be true).
Subject: Please read!!!! This was on Oprah!
Content: THIS WAS FEATURED ON TWO PAGES OF THE TUESDAY USA TODAY – IT IS FOR REALDear Friends; Please do not take this for a junk letter. Bill Gates sharing his fortune. If you ignore this, you will regret it later.
For every person that you forward this e-mail to, Microsoft will pay
you $245.00 For every person that you sent it to that forwards it on,
Microsoft will pay you $243.00 and for every third person that receives
it, You will be paid $241.00. Within tw! o weeks, Microsoft will contact
you for your address and then send you a check.
Now how does Microsoft know your address and where to send the cheque too. Further down in the email, it states one person received $24,000. Bill is also putting most of his money into the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation. So what makes you think your so important for Microsoft to give away money for nothing?

iPhone Screenshots
Well I did a full restore of my iPhone yesterday, and decided to re-do it all again and take some screenshots of the iPhone in all it’s glory, haha. The theme I’m using is called Tenius which is a nice lightweight theme and also using the NeoTech font which compliments it nicely.
I’ve installed the Five Icon Dock mod (available in Cydia) and Tenius Flow to match the theme. The lock screen is Eclectic + Micro which is a nice clean lock screen. The weather on the screen is WeatherWidget theme. I’m also using ‘Yes Optus’ logo’s to replace the default text.
Let me know what you think or if you have any recommendations leave a comment.
