Dinner

Rachelle and I went to dinner Thursday night at Cactus Jacks on Palmer St. We were going to sit inside, but it seemed nicer to sit outside. Rachelle had a Strawberry Margarita whilst I had a Coke, as I was driving.

I ordered the BBQ Ribs, and Rachelle ordered the Chicken Crispers, both meals were delicious. We were going to go to The Strand and have some ice cream afterwards, but the meals were too filling, so we decided to go for a drive around, then proceed home.

We got to use Rachelle’s new digital camera, the Fuji FinePix Z100fd, it takes amazing pictures I must say!

Well, that’s all for now, Rachelle and I are taking the kids to The Water Park on The Strand today, so will update some photos later.

Some Beta Testing

As most of you probably know, Windows Live Messenger 9.0 Beta has been floating around, and Microsoft just released Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1. I was thinking the other day of testing WLM9, and just saw about IE8 getting released, and thought what better time to test it.

I am in the process of downloading them now, and I will report back on how they work, if they crashed. If you have used either, please tell me what you thought of them.

Update: Okay, so I removed Internet Explorer 8, as it’s more of a “development” release, so some site’s didn’t want to work. On the other hand, Windows Live Messenger 9 is quite good, I’m starting to like it. Some of the new features are that if someone has a link in their display name / personal message, your able to click it now. Also another feature is the ability to have animated gif files as your display picture.

You are now also able to sign in at multiple locations, the same way you can with Skype. There is also a list of new sounds (called signature sounds) which you set, and it’s what people on your contact list here when you sign in.

Laptop Finally Setup

Well, I have been setting up / copying / backing up stuff from Rachelle’s laptop to mine, and it is finally all done.

The laptop runs beautifully, can really notice the difference going from 32bit Vista to 64bit, everything is just so much more snappy and executes faster.

Rachelle also bought a new camera today, a Fuji Z100fd, have yet to test it out yet, so will see how it goes.

That’s all for now, Rachelle and I are going to go out for dinner, and give the new camera a workout, will post how it went.

Nero Alternatives

As anyone would know, probably one of the best pieces of software for burning would have to be Nero Burning ROM. But as most of you know, it is quite bloated, and comes with a lot of extras (unless you use the Nero Micro/Lite versions). So I am currently looking at some (free) alternatives to Nero Burning ROM, and I happened to come across a site that shows The Best, Free Alternatives to Nero CD/DVD Burner, which has quite a good list, and some features of the software.

I am thinking of giving CDBurnerXP or InfraRecorder a go, just due to the features of free burning software. If anyone else has tried any other software that is free, and works quite well, supports a lot and is able to burn multiple disc’s (Data, Audio, MP3, ISO, CD/DVD), please leave a comment and let me know.

Dinner and Clubbing

Rachelle and I were planning to go out for a couple of hours on Friday night, but didn’t that soon change!

We ended up going out for dinner, and a pretty nice place, the atmosphere was great, but the meals were quite expensive. We ended up getting the meals a quite a good price though ;-) They were delicious, I must say. We then proceeded to pick up Sabina, but she wasn’t quite ready to go out, so we went home for about an hour, and then went and picked her up.

We then went into town, and went to The Cri for about an hour or so, but wasn’t much happening (the doors to the dance floor were closed at 10:30pm, they didn’t open until about 11:30pm or something), so we ended up going to the Mad Cow, and drank and danced etc. We then decided to leave there about 2:30am, and went to one of Rachelle’s friends places and stayed there until about 4am or something.

I ended up dropping Sabina home, Rachelle and I stopped at McDonalds for some food, and went back home to sleep. It was quite a good night, I would have loved to have drank more, but being designated driver was alright, I still had fun which was the main thing.

Well, that’s all for now, I should be getting my new laptop on Tuesday/Wednesday, so stay tuned for pics and updates.
