Internode’s BigPond parody, you do the math
Internode are doing a new ad campaign to try and lure BigPond customers across to their service. Whilst most ad campaigns are to try and get the consumer to buy their product, there needs to be some truth about the campaign.
One of Internode’s billboards shows a broken down blue Kombi van with an outback landscape. Most people will identify this as BigPond’s “I’ve been everywhere” campaign – BigPond’s wireless NextG service.
What Internode’s slogan reads is “If you’ve been everywhere man, it’s probably time for an upgrade”. Now as you all know, Telstra have the largest NextG network coverage in Australia, so how can you upgrade? Well Internode aren’t offering a wireless service, they are offering their ADSL2+ Easy Broadband plan.
The billboards which reportedly have cost Internode $350,000 will have 29 shown in Sydney and 10 in Adelaide. The second ad campaign’s slogan says “Are you being taken for a ride?” which again shows the iconic blue Kombi van.
Now why would Internode be trying to push an ADSL2+ connection to those in the outback on NextG wireless? They are most likely on that service due to being in the outback and not having decent telephone cabling or too far from the exchange.

Dance Like No One’s Watching
Here is a nice poem about happiness I found, written by Crystal Boyd.
We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren’t old enough and we’ll be more content when they are.
After that, we’re frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage.
We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, or when we retire.

The Duck Song
Well the following clip gets a lot of laughs at our place. The boys mimic it and it gets stuck in your head. Even Chell has been mimicking it and after the third or fourth time it gets a little annoying, but you still have to laugh about it.
What are your thoughts on the clip? Catchy?

Twitter hacked by Acai Berry spammers
My Twitter account was compromised (I have since changed my password) which resulted in some of my friends recently receiving direct messages from me offering options to lose weight.
People that have had their account hacked will be sending messages similar to this one:
did not think i was really going to lose weight, i did it though! with this... http://tinyurl.com/yhbx5kl
Here is another screenshot with different messages.
Last but not least, one final screenshot.
As you can see, if you have a few followers they will get annoyed with your messages. I didn’t even know my account was compromised until my friend Ryan informed me about the message I supposedly sent him on Twitter.
I did some Google Searches on the issue and only came across one other post written by Graham Cluley dating back to May 24, 2009. I would like to know if anyone else has had this happen to them so please comment and let me know.

Cheap cool gadgets and stuff
Everyone loves cool gadgets, keychains and random things. You like them more if they are cheap. There is a place that has everything you can think of which you may have come across called DealExtreme.
They have everything from cheap $2 Gadgets to video games to car accessories. One of the things I bought from DealExtreme was these iPhone charging cables (I bought 3 of them) and at $1.86 each and free shipping, who can complain?
I also bought Rachelle and I a cute Lovers Keychain which is a magnetic heart keychain that splits in two. I know it was only $2.34 but it’s cute and the thought that counts, right?
