Chell and I have officially set a date for our wedding which is Saturday May 23, 2009, which is 334 days away. We decided on that date since it will be our two year anniversary.
We are going to try save up some money and pay for Mum & Dad to fly up for the weekend, hopefully they will be able to make it. Now all we need to do is look at all the possible locations for the wedding, design the inites and write up the guest list.
I can’t wait until next year to be wed to my lovely fiancĂ©e (I love you Chell), I always get so excited when we talk about it, it’s amazing.
I started getting sick on Sunday, which was quite bad. I couldn’t sleep properly, coughing all the time, nausea e.t.c. It has worked in my favour though, as I am still sick, I have pretty much quit smoking which is good.
I have Tue/Wed off work, so Chell and I decided to hire some movies and be lazy / let me rest for the two days which has been great.
I was feeling a bit better yesterday, so Chell and I decided to get some prawns for dinner, and we got some garlic and made garlic prawns for dinner, they were delicious.
We dropped the magna off at the mechanic’s this morning to get the brakes done on it, so hopefully they will be all fixed. We then bought some doritos for snacks to night for when we watch the state of origin, c’mon maroons!
That’s all for now, I hope I feel better by tomorrow, this is four days now I’ve felt like crap!
Update: I awoke this morning, feeling a lot better, which is great. My throat is still a little sore. The might maroon’s dominated the field last night, winning state of origin II, the end result - QLD: 30, NSW: 0. Now all we have to do is win the 3rd and final game in 3 weeks, I know we can do it!
It’s been awhile since I last updated the blog, so I thought I should get this thing updated with some new content.
Last week Chell and I got our lips pierced, well Chell’s piercing is technically called a “Madonna”, it’s like where a beauty spot is. Mine is on the bottom left of my lip.
I have just got 4 days off work, which is quite good as it’s been pretty busy lately. Chell and I are going to Airlie Beach tomorrow and spending two nights in a nice resort. It is quite a special occasion as it’s our one year anniversary, it must be fate as it’s when the 4 days off fell on the roster for me
.
Airlie Beach is just near the Whitsundays, so hopefully we can go snorkeling or something like that in the awesome crystal clear blue ocean.
I’ve put some new photo’s of Chell and I in our gallery, you can see our new piercings
.
Oh, I almost forgot, Chell bought me a cool Bathing Ape (BAPE) hoodie, which you can see here or also in the gallery.
Chell and I went to see the new Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz movie, What Happens in Vegas. It was quite a good movie, with lots of laughs. It reminded of Ashton’s other movie he did, with Brittany Murphy, Just Married.
Here is the plot of What Happens in Vegas, taken from IMDb.
Set in Sin City, story revolves around two people who discover they’ve gotten married following a night of debauchery, with one of them winning a huge jackpot after playing the other’s quarter. Unhappy pair try to undermine each other and get their hands on the money — falling in love along the way.
So I guess you could call it one of those sappy, romantic comedies, but I would recommend seeing it, it’s quite funny from the get-go.
Today we awoke at a bashing on the door at 6:30am, the kids were here. So, we got up and fed them and did the morning routine. Then we decided to go to Toys’R'Us to buy some presents, they were excited!
We ended up getting the girls a little bike each, they are so cute, and two new beds to replace the cots. Emily got a little princess one and Tiana got a little mermaid one.
The boys got a whole heap of hotwheels cars which they loved, as soon as we got home, wait… even in the car on the way home they had them opened and were playing with them!
Once we got home, i got the bike’s built and the girls where riding around on them whilst I built the beds for them. We moved the cots into the garage and re-arranged their room with the new beds, it looks awesome!
I’ve put some photo’s of the girls new beds up in the gallery, and also some photo’s of them with their new bikes.
I awoke with a phone call today at 12noon, I was sleeping in because I got home late from Kirsten’s 21’s last night. I answered the call, and my sister said “have you forgotten something?”, it was her 18th birthday today, I remembered, I was just asleep. So I said happy birthday to her, and she was all happy
.
I installed OSX 10.5.2 (x86 version) on a spare laptop HDD I had floating around, it seemed to install fine, but failed when it came to booting. So instead I downloaded Ubuntu 8.04 and installed that. It worked beautifully, picked up everything in the laptop. I plugged my Logitech V220 into the laptop, and it “just worked”, I’m loving how far linux/bsd has come!
Then later this afternoon, Chell and I went down to the strand for a late lunch / dinner. We cooked up a BBQ, had sausages, steak, mushrooms and capsicum, it was so delicious. Afterwards, we came home, had a bit of a sleep and watched some TV. We are going to lay down again soon and have some ice cream and watch season 2 of Nip/Tuck
.
Well Josh went and bought a new head-unit on Tuesday, so he came around that night with his old one, and we wired it up in the Magna. It was quite a pain, since it was dark we had a lamp hooked up, and the center spacia in the Magna was a pain getting out too. But it’s all installed and working - thanks Josh!
Today Chell and I went shopping as it was her birthday yesterday, so she got money e.t.c
Chell ended up getting her nails done, and they look damn sexy!
Chell also bought some stuff for her hair to help keep it straight longer when she straightens it. Chell also bought a new set of 6×9’s for the Magna, they were $110, but on sale for $70. I got them all hooked up today, and they sound great just running off the head-unit - thanks baby!
Well that’s all for now, better go get ready for work
On Tuesday Rachelle and I went down to the car dealership to pick up our Magna. It’s a ‘98 model, is tinted and has 17″ rims, doesn’t have any dents. It also has a head-unit and speakers, but the laser must be dying as it doesn’t play-back cd’s properly, the radio will do for now
.
I ended up getting the car for $8000, that’s with registration and insurance, so wasn’t a bad deal. The car has 134,000k’s on the clock which isn’t too bad for the price. The ride itself is quite smooth, and we’re not used to being so low again
.
We both love the car, we will eventually change it and make it our own (re-spray, head-unit e.t.c.). Well, that’s enough talking for now, you can view the pics over in the Gallery.

Rachelle went to Cairns for the night / weekend with Kirsten and Amanda yesterday. They drove up and are spending the night there and going to the markets today to do some shopping. I asked Josh if he wanted to come around, so he ended up turning up about 8:30pm and we ordered some pizza and played CounterStrike for a couple of hours, then he ended up leaving around about 1:30am or so, it was a great night, good to catch up
.
I still haven’t gone to sleep yet
It’s so weird not having Rachelle here. I just haven’t felt tired, so I decided to make my time that I am awake useful and I have washed some clothes and done almost all the rest of the folding
I might end up going to bed shortly as the sun will be up soon, once I get some sleep I plan to finish what’s left of the folding, and then take the car and get it all washed and clean so it’s all nice and tidy for when Rachelle gets back
I will try and clean the house up a bit and have a bit of a nap before Rachelle returns, as we are going to go out for dinner
Well, the sun is set to come up in two hours, so I might go to bed and hopefully sleep before it wakes me up
Goodnight (or good morning?)
I had Sunday off work so we decided to take the kids to Riverway for the afternoon. We bought the boys some bodyboards to take to the pool, they loved them.
We bought some new floaties for the girls, and they dived into the pool and swam to us, it was so cute. Jacob and I pool surfed on the bodyboard, he loved it, we got some good photos too.
It was a great afternoon, the kids loved it too, we had a lot of fun. The photos we took are over in the Riverway gallery, enjoy!
