Well the past two days at work have been crazy, I thought Monday would be quite crazy as usual start of the week dilemmas, but even tonight has been crazy. So many calls to take, so many different problems that take like 40 minutes or more to fix, and trying to talk people through doing things when they don’t understand computers to well is a nightmare.
One of the biggest issues at the moment is BigPond releasing the NextG connection manager update (version 2.10.4), which mutilates peoples connections, is a real pain. Generally resetting the TCP Stack and a simple reset of the winsock resolves the issue, but I thought there would be some QA that has to be done before releasing updated software.
On another note, Rachelle starts work again at TTH, which is quite cool. She is now casual, so she gets to choose which shifts she wants, now that is awesome. I also applied for salary sacrificing of a new notebook for myself through work, which I should get in time for my birthday which will be a good present. A new computer for myself, it’s only been about 7 years since I last updated.
Well that is all for now, my ranting about work is over.
Goodnight

Rachelle and I watched all three Lord of The Rings the other week, it was agony at first for me, but I eventually got used to the whole fantasy thing. The movies weren’t too bad, the special effects were great, it’s just a pity the movies go for about 3 hours.
Work has been quite hectic the past couple of days, why I don’t know as there hasn’t been any outages or anything, it’s strange. I will be getting paid on Tue/Wed which will be awesome, my first pay under a Telstra contract, I should get quite a bit of moolah

Well, I hope everyone had a great Christmas, and an awesome New Years. I for one certainly did, I didn’t stay out too late on New Years though, ended up making it back home about 3:30am or something. The weather was just way too hot, and the club’s weren’t really packed at all (I have seen more people out on Friday/Saturday nights). I think a lot of people went over to Magnetic Island, since DJ Benny Benassi was doing a concert over there, but who knows.
Work is going great, I work 20 minutes less than what I did before, and get paid more, so I am happy. I still enjoy having days off though!
Well, that’s all for me, let me know what you got upto for Christmas / New Years.

As some of you may of known, I;ve been sick since Friday morning/afternoon. It all started with a sore throat, then got worse from there, was getting headaches, cold sweats and high temperatures. I don’t know what it is, but Rachelle got me some Anti-Biotics to hopefully fix it up.
I don’t like being sick, especially when your temperature is aroiund 38.5c, you feel frozen, but are sweating. The worst thing is that Christmas is just around the corner too, which I hope I feel a bit better. This also is my second day without a cigarette, since my throat is so sore, I can’t smoke, so hopefully I wont feel like one by the time I get better.
I’ve also spent some time setting up Gallery2, and am going to configure it into my blog so that I can have images too, so check back soon!
Update: I’ve got Gallery2 all uploaded now, and added some photos and albums, but still have more pictures to upload yet. You can view the gallery by clicking on “Gallery” up the top, or clicking here.

Well today I awoke at 5am to turn the alarm off, and layed back down in bed, then Rachelle woke me back up at 5:15am saying that I should get ready for work. Did all the usual (shower, dressed and drive). I got to work about 5:50am, and went to go buy some iced coffee, but the vending machine was empty!
I don’t know why people get up at 6am to call up Telstra for technical support, people should be still sleeping at those hours of a morning on a weekend! Work was constant all day, I ended up leaving at 11am as I felt sick (had a sore throat, felt sick when I ate lunch and had a fever), so I came home early.
I had two ibuprofen pills to combat the headache and all, now it’s all better. Rachelle and I are going to look at some puppies (we are thinking about getting one!).
Well that’s all for now, I might update some more later.
Update: we ended up getting a puppy, it’s a Boxer x German Sheppard, it’s a little cutie! We took her for a walk last night, she walked for quite a bit, then we carried her since she was puffing so much.

Well, as some of you may know, I currently work for Telstra, but am employed through an Agency. I applied for a Telstra contract about 2 weeks ago. I had the interview on Monday that just passed, and was told I would find out by the end of the week if I was successful or not.
I finished work today at 2pm, and went to see my Agency representative to see how I went in regards to the application as I had no word to say that I was accepted or declined. Long story short, I got the job, as of the 31st December, I will be a “Telstra Employee”, which means better pay (a lot better), paid holidays/sick leave, and also an extra break during my work hours
