Why I’m using Skribit

Along with the new theme design and photos. I have also added a widget on the right side of the page called Skribit. Skribit is basically a blog topic suggestion application which allows you, the reader to suggest things that you would like to read about.

Skribit was developed by Paul Stamatiou who is a recent graduate of Georgia Tech and is now working on Skribit full-time. I hope to use Skribit to allow myself to communicate with the community by getting more ideas on what to blog about, and try to stay active.

Thanks for reading.

Another update

It’s been awhile since I last updated the blog, so I thought I should get this thing updated with some new content.

Last week Chell and I got our lips pierced, well Chell’s piercing is technically called a “Madonna”, it’s like where a beauty spot is. Mine is on the bottom left of my lip.

I have just got 4 days off work, which is quite good as it’s been pretty busy lately. Chell and I are going to Airlie Beach tomorrow and spending two nights in a nice resort. It is quite a special occasion as it’s our one year anniversary, it must be fate as it’s when the 4 days off fell on the roster for me :-).

Airlie Beach is just near the Whitsundays, so hopefully we can go snorkeling or something like that in the awesome crystal clear blue ocean.

I’ve put some new photo’s of Chell and I in our gallery, you can see our new piercings :-).

Oh, I almost forgot, Chell bought me a cool Bathing Ape (BAPE) hoodie, which you can see here or also in the gallery.

WordPress 2.5 delayed

Well it seems WordPress 2.5 has been delayed again, it’s initial release was for March 10, then pushed back until March 17, then March 21. So far according to the WordPress trac it’s a day old so far. There is still currently 256 active tickets, which I hope will get fixed up soon.

It’s good that they are holding off until it is bug free, it will probably be one of the best releases to date. I’ve looked at the sneek peeks of WordPress 2.5, and it looks great. I haven’t personally tried it, prefer to wait for a final incase it causes havoc with Windows Live Writer ;-)

WordPress 2.5

Well, it seems WordPress 2.5 will be released on my birthday (thats right, today), but it will be late tonight as it’s not 17th March in the states just yet. It seems quite strange, I haven’t seen any Beta or RC releases of WP 2.5, I just hope all of the plugins are compatible with this new release.

Posting from WLW

Well, I downloaded the final version of Windows Live Writer to see how it performs with WordPress. So far it’s working, but will have to see how this post turns out first. I hate the whole “online installer” stuff, so found the “source” msi installer for a standalone installer (offline).

So for the people that want just the standalone installer, you need to download the WLinstaller.exe and after it installs WLW it creates a temporary .msi file in “C:\Program Files\Common Files\WindowsLiveInstaller\MsiSources\Install_{9176251A-4CC1-4DDB-B343-B487195EB397}.msi”.

You will mostly need to enable hidden folders, as the directory is hidden, but after that copy the .msi to a folder, and there you have it, a standalone installer :)
