One BIG family Christmas

So it is that time of year again, you know when it is, the shops get busier and parking gets scarce. Shops have lots of sales and the banks want to give you credit cards. Yep it’s Christmas.

This year will be by far the best Christmas yet. We’ve had the kids full-time now for almost 9 months and they are very happy. My Sister and her Husband are moving up here today and are going to be staying with us for a couple of months. That means our big family has just grown by two!

It will be our first Christmas as a married couple, Cayden’s first Christmas and the first time we don’t have to share the kids! This has made me quite happy since Chell is a lot happier this year knowing this.

We’re going to have a nice big Christmas lunch and a swim in the pool (what else would you do on Christmas in 30 degree heat?). I’m looking forward to the kids opening their presents from us and Santa (we can’t give Santa all the credit, right?).

I’m not sure what else to write, all I can say is I’m definitely looking forward to this Christmas and many more. I have such a great family and can’t wait until Saturday!

How much Chrisco really costs

So I guess you’ve already seen the ads on television or saw it in the paper, about Chrisco Christmas Hampers in which you pay a certain amount of money each week and at the end of the year everything gets delivered. The question is how much does it really cost?

I have gotten the prices from various supermarket catalogues and simply compared it with the Chrisco Hamper 2010 for this quick research so prices may vary.

Coca Cola Hamper

Chrisco: 2 x 24 packs of Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Cap, Coca-Cola beach towel and a frisbee. This costs $137.80 or $3.29 a week over 42 weeks.

Coles: 24 pack of Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta Or Lift Soft Drink Varieties cost $16 each, or a total of $32. So your paying $105.80 for a cap, towel, bag and frisbee.

Apple iMac

Chrisco: Apple 20″ (2.66GHz processor, 320GB drive with 2GB RAM) for $2,184.00 or $42.00 per week.

Apple Store: Apple 21.5″ (3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 500GB drive with 4GB RAM) for $1,599.00 or $52.13 per month.

TV’s

Chrisco: Panasonic 37″ Full HD LCD Television for $1,651.00 or $31.75 per week.

Harvey Norman: Panasonic 37″ Full HD LCD Television for $1499.

So just of these couple of examples, you can see you could potentially save hundreds of dollars if you put the same amount away each week and went to your local grocery store and electrical store.

Christmas and New Years

Well, I hope everyone had a great Christmas, and an awesome New Years. I for one certainly did, I didn’t stay out too late on New Years though, ended up making it back home about 3:30am or something. The weather was just way too hot, and the club’s weren’t really packed at all (I have seen more people out on Friday/Saturday nights). I think a lot of people went over to Magnetic Island, since DJ Benny Benassi was doing a concert over there, but who knows.

Work is going great, I work 20 minutes less than what I did before, and get paid more, so I am happy. I still enjoy having days off though!

Christmas

Well, I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I had a pretty good time, Chell and I cooked a chicken on the webber, we also cooked some pork and ham the night before for a Christmas Eve dinner. On Christmas, we awoke and I got dressed up in a Santa suit to hand out all the kids pressies, they loved it! Emily and Tiana loved their Dora the Explorer toys, Matt loved his Nintendo Wii game, and Jacob loved his Nintendo DS game & pack.

We then went to their Aunty’s place for more pressies and breakfast, we got some photo’s and opened the presents, Rachelle’s mum got us a big hamper, it was great! After that we headed back home and waited for their Dad to pick them up. We were then bored so decided to watch the Harry Potter series.

Our puppy, Cassie is doing great too, she’s a little terror, but what pup isn’t?

Sickness

As some of you may of known, I’ve been sick since Friday morning/afternoon. It all started with a sore throat, then got worse from there, was getting headaches, cold sweats and high temperatures. I don’t know what it is, but Rachelle got me some Anti-Biotics to hopefully fix it up.

I don’t like being sick, especially when your temperature is aroiund 38.5c, you feel frozen, but are sweating. The worst thing is that Christmas is just around the corner too, which I hope I feel a bit better. This also is my second day without a cigarette, since my throat is so sore, I can’t smoke, so hopefully I wont feel like one by the time I get better.

I’ve also spent some time setting up Gallery2, and am going to configure it into my blog so that I can have images too, so check back soon!
