Movie: Next

The other day Chell and I watched a movie called Next. It stars Nicolas Cage and Jessica Biel.

The movie is about a man that can see into the future, but the catch is that he can only see his future, it involves action, murder, suspense. The plot on IMDB states:

Las Vegas showroom magician Cris Johnson has a secret which torments him: he can see a few minutes into the future. Sick of the examinations he underwent as a child and the interest of the government and medical establishment in his power, he lies low under an assumed name in Vegas, performing cheap tricks and living off small-time gambling “winnings.” But when a terrorist group threatens to detonate a nuclear device in Los Angeles, government agent Callie Ferris must use all her wiles to capture Cris and convince him to help her stop the cataclysm.

I would recommend you see this movie, and I would give it 4/5 stars. If you have seen this movie, let me know what you thought.

The Dark Knight

On Saturday evening, Chell, me and the boys decided to watch The Dark Knight. Matt got almost half way through it, but fell asleep so he went off to bed. Chell watched 3/4’s of it, and got bored of it.

I watched the whole movie with Jacob, but I must say that it isn’t as good as what it is made out to be, sure Heath Ledger played a great role as The Joker, but the movie itself went nowhere.

Throughout the movie it’s the same “Batman must catch The Joker”, and you get to see Two Face again, but he dies in the end (sorry if I spoiled it). But the whole story line is indeed quite boring, some of the action is good, but that would be all.

I think if I had to rate the movie, I would give it 2.5/5 stars. If you have seen it, tell me what you thought.

Dinner and movie

After work today Chell and I went out to dinner and see a movie, it was such a great night. We don’t go out very often, so it was nice to spend some quality time with Chell.

We went to Hog’s Breath for dinner, that place has the nicest steak I have ever eaten. Afterwards we went and saw the new Will Smith movie, Hancock.

The movie was great, it’s about a superhero who the public hates because he creates so much destruction trying to help people, and he has such a short temper.

He ends up trying to turn his life around and become the superhero everyone loves. The movie was jam packed with action, and has a few twists and turns throughout. It is a great movie and I would recommend seeing it.

Sickness, Movies, Rest

I started getting sick on Sunday, which was quite bad. I couldn’t sleep properly, coughing all the time, nausea e.t.c. It has worked in my favour though, as I am still sick, I have pretty much quit smoking which is good.

I have Tue/Wed off work, so Chell and I decided to hire some movies and be lazy / let me rest for the two days which has been great.

I was feeling a bit better yesterday, so Chell and I decided to get some prawns for dinner, and we got some garlic and made garlic prawns for dinner, they were delicious.

We dropped the magna off at the mechanic’s this morning to get the brakes done on it, so hopefully they will be all fixed. We then bought some doritos for snacks to night for when we watch the state of origin, c’mon maroons!

That’s all for now, I hope I feel better by tomorrow, this is four days now I’ve felt like crap!

Update: I awoke this morning, feeling a lot better, which is great. My throat is still a little sore. The might maroon’s dominated the field last night, winning state of origin II, the end result - QLD: 30, NSW: 0. Now all we have to do is win the 3rd and final game in 3 weeks, I know we can do it!

What Happens in Vegas…

Chell and I went to see the new Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz movie, What Happens in Vegas. It was quite a good movie, with lots of laughs. It reminded of Ashton’s other movie he did, with Brittany Murphy, Just Married.

Here is the plot of What Happens in Vegas, taken from IMDb.

Set in Sin City, story revolves around two people who discover they’ve gotten married following a night of debauchery, with one of them winning a huge jackpot after playing the other’s quarter. Unhappy pair try to undermine each other and get their hands on the money — falling in love along the way.

So I guess you could call it one of those sappy, romantic comedies, but I would recommend seeing it, it’s quite funny from the get-go.

Movies

Rachelle and I have watched quite a few movies lately. We have watched the first 5 episodes of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, so thought it would be good to watch The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgement Day and Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines so we could see how the new TV series fits in with the movies, which was quite interesting. I wonder what Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins will be like, it wont be released until next year, but it looks like Skynet has won the war acording to the write up.

We have also watched SuperBad, which was quite hilarious, I would recommend this movie to friends, the things that happens in the movie is great, it’s one of those movies where you laugh every 5 minutes or so. Then on Sunday night we watched Knocked Up, it was quite a good movie too, it shows how much a person can change when they really need to, and how they deal with life and what is given to them.

That’s all for now, work has been crazy, can’t wait until an RDO!

What a day

This morning started with the girls sneaking out of their room, and into ours to wake us up at about 6:30am, which was naughty. We then did the usual, breakfast, getting the kids dressed etc. We then took the kids and Cassie to Pallarenda to go for a swim, they enjoyed it and Rachelle and Jacob collected some seashells while Matt and I played frisbee. The girls ran around the beach crazily and Cassie went swimming.

After that we came home and started making a wind chime with all the seashells we collected, it’s going great, I will take a photo once it’s completed. We then just played around with the kids all afternoon, and had a sleep whilst the girls did. Rachelle showered the girls while I was cooking dinner, it worked out great. I cooked a nice steak for us, some vegetables and mashed potato, Jacob had sausages instead.

The girls are in bed now, and the boys are watching 102 dalmations on TV. Rachelle and I are about to have some ice cream and watch SuperBad. We are going to take the kids for a picnic tomorrow with one of Rachelle’s friends and her kids, should be fun. I will try get a lot of photo’s and put them up in the gallery. Stay tuned.
