What a trip

Josh’s car broke down yesterday about 70km’s South of Sarina, and got it towed to Sarina which is about 35km’s South of Mackay. We got a phonecall asking if we can go pick him up, so being the kind people we are we set off on a long trip. Mind you, I did all this driving on 3 hours sleep.
We had showers, and left Townsville about 10:30am, we stopped off at a petrol garage at Ayr to fill the car up, then we kept going. The next stop was a pertrol garage between Proserpine and Mackay, got something to eat, and bought The Picture magazine.

It was about 1:30pm – 2:00pm and pouring rain, it was so much different than the weather back at Townsville, the car was showing 38c when we left Townsville, the temp was now showing about 20c. It was good to see some rain, as it was so hot from Townsville to Proserpine.
We ended up making it to Sarina about 4:00pm, and met Josh at a bar, where he been drinking since about 11am when he got kicked out of the Motel so they could clean it, he had drank about 10 schooners, and was quite drunk. We got all the stuff out of his car, packed it all in the Delica and set off. We stopped at KFC to buy some food, and a bottle shop to buy some more alcohol, and left Sarina about 5:00pm.
After a lot of pouring rain, I started to feel the car aquaplane, it felt pretty scary, especially going 110km/h and seeing traffic coming towards you when you feel the car slide towards the other lane. We ended up cranking up the music in the car for the rest of the trip, Josh and Rachelle had a few more drinks, we smoked quite a few cigarettes too.
We made it back to Townsville at about 10:40pm, dropped Josh off, and came back home, my eyes were hanging out of my head by this stage, so as soon as I got home, I hit the bed and crashed.
